Yes. I did see a turtle about the size of a Mack truck tire. Probably 100 years old. Could with one bite cut off your arm. No lie. It was sunning itself on a larger rock on the side of a lake in Maine. I was a teenager then. Turtle must be 200 by now.
A moment savored while the ephemerality of it is as present as the moment itself. I often wonder about my mistrust in a blissful moment and find myself trying to pick apart the past as if to find the origin… to find the meaning would be better… But whenever I see what I once considered a simple-minded, optimistic trust in the present I’m inspired and somewhat awestruck. There is a comfort I’ve never known.
Awestruck is the word, Mahdi. To let the moment do its thing on you without any interpretation, just pure emotion flowing through the body -- that is pure bliss to me, but we are so hardwired not to...
I love this line “it’s time, you’ve had enough of play” because it can be interpreted into a positive. I think it looks like a dark power with an eagle’s face. It scared the hell out of me. Love the poem you’ve got and that line, to me, makes the poem complete.
I just stopped by to say hello! And tell you what I see. I have been riveted to the Big Bear Lake (California) Eagle Cam, watching new life emerge, watching when a hatchling lays forever still in the nest, two survive and I am now one of their stewards, even though it is only through observation and wishes. I am in total awe of the glorious innate ability of two adult Eagles , caring for their young. Yes, I see an Eagle, head slightly bent , her keen eyes, watching over her young. Thanks for the magic, I offer you the same;
Wild places and moments, they invite our souls but somehow not the lens...not yet, not in that second. I know this well... the magic is sheer, too easily broken...
Gorgeous grain in this exquisite photograph. I hope you will share more over time, Fotini!
(I see Godzilla emerging from the depths in this)
Yes there’s a Godzilla creature!
I am working on it, thank you for the love, Angela 🙏
It is funny that everyone sees something different in this photo :)
'and puff, like that be gone and the curtain
be drawn and you left again in a world
deprived of magic'
Love this journey of photographic intrigue you bring us on. I'm there too.
In search of magic, always! Thank you, Síodhna 🖤
This is so lovely. The photograph and how the poem speaks so. There’s so much in just a moment before pressing the shutter.
In moments like these, it feels like you are suspended in time, it's a kind of magic :)
Thank you, LeeAnn!!!
There’s a name for seeing something that looks like something else. Perhaps synesthesia. I see a snapping turtle tearing something apart.
"pareidolia" is the word, and I love the fearless snapping turtle you're seeing 🖤
Thanks for sharing the word that skipped out of my mind devoured by the snapping turtle that crossed my path.
Ravenous creature!

Said the old wise man :)
With a gift of gab.
Fantastic! I love this (poem and photograph)! 🤍
Double thank you, then!!! 🖤
That wild magic has always been whispering to you and now you’re ready to let the message through. Congratulations and welcome to your world ❤️
It's a big world with room for everyone, come along, my friend :)
Wait, wait, I'm getting my shoes on :)

Thanks, Pilgrim, but you should know that despite appearances my beast means well :)
I bet!

That's pure magic!!! Thank you for the link, dear Lor. Bookmarked already for easy access :)
I see a dragon just about to take flight. The beast calling the shots- I like that :)
I like that too! I've missed you, dear Treasa :)
Beautiful, the photograph feels in motion
Thank you, Stephanie! 🙏

Yet it is there, hovering... 🖤
“and you left again in a world / deprived of magic” Gorgeous. As is the photo.
I know what you mean about looking through the photos you’ve taken.
And I see many things, among them sea.
Thanks, Holly, for both :)
Looking at the landscapes, objects, or whatever I photographed, glimpses of myself emerge. It is an uncanny feeling...
Fotini - the image, the perfectly framed photograph, the MARVELOUS poem - all of this is Magic!
Perfect magic.......
I can’t thank you enough for your words, Leon! 🙏
Wonderfully evocative poem!

Even your photos are poetry. Very beautiful! ❤️
I wish you could see the smile on my face… Thank you so much, Arnaly! 🖤
