hosts a title song poetry challenge inviting us to write daily poems composed solely of song titles from a particular artist/band. Each day has a letter assigned to it, so for the letter O today, I chose the Ozric Tentacles and by breaking (a little) the rules and adding some more words, I came up with the following poem.
Jurassic Shift
A tidal convergence spirals in hyperspace;
there’s a planet here in the coily space
between your ears, where you idly kick
muck in the snakepit of your astro cortex.
When a neurochasm reveals the high pass
to Akasha over the valley of a thousand
thoughts, your far memory agog in the ether
is rubbing shoulders with the absolute.
Your poetry amazes me each time! What you've done here with those complicated titles is beyond me. Would I want to rub shoulders with the absolute? This is what I am wondering about. Yet another band I am unfamiliar with. Thank you for the introduction.
The rules of how to construct this poem, make it sound very hard to do! And yet, you still made such a good poem.
Bravo!
